Benriach’s whisky-making philosophy is “Exploring Flavor Since 1898.” On Monday, October 25th at 6:30 pm we’re doing just that! Join us virtually as we dive into Benriach's unique history and production techniques to explore how Benriach creates the intricate layers of flavor that are found within the range of Single Malt expressions. By examining the range of eclectic casks from around the world as well as the different spirit styles they create (unpeated and peated) we can get a glimpse into how Benriach's Master Blender, Dr. Rachel Barrie, interviews these aspects of the whisky together to create these truly unique Single Malt expressions.

We’ll be joined by Senior Scotch & Irish Whisky Ambassador, Rory Glasgow, from Benrriach who will walk us through a tasting of 4 different expressions of Benriach Scotch and he will lead us in a discussion on how each expression was created using an unusual assortment of cask types and through the combination of both peated and unpeated whiskies. You won’t want to miss out on the exploration of the delectable flavors that these scotches bring to the table!

Scotchtober Fest:

Scotch & Chocolate Tasting

On Monday, October 11th at 6:30 pm join us virtually as we sip on delectable Glendronach scotches and taste delicious chocolate from Forté Chocolates that will pair with each scotch. It’s no surprise that scotch and chocolate taste wonderful when paired together. The warm and complex tones of whisky complement and undercuts magnificent, creamy chocolate! Each scotch though must be carefully paired with the right kind of chocolate to get the most out of its abundant and assorted flavors. That’s why we’re calling in the experts.

During this Scotchtober Fest event, we’ll be joined by Senior Scotch & Irish Whisky Ambassador, Rory Glasgow, from Glendronach Scotch who will not only pair the whisky with the chocolate but will also walk us through the tasting to explain why each chocolate goes with which whisky and the different flavors that the chocolate pulls from each. You'll get to taste the Glendronach 12 yr, 15 yr, 18 yr and the Glendronach Port Wood without having to commit to buying a whole bottle! Plus you'll get to taste each one with unique chocolate that has been hand-selected to pair perfectly with each scotch. Scotch and chocolate, what more could you want!

Event kits can be picked up Wednesday, October 6th from 10am - 1pm or Thursday October 7th between 3pm - 6pm at Seattle Cocktail Club HQ.

Slane Irish Whiskey & Beer Tasting

Slane Irish Whiskey + Beer Tasting

On September 16th, join us virtually for our second annual Slane Irish Whiskey and Beer Tasting! This year we’ll be handpicking 3 beers (all different than last year) to taste with Slane Irish Whiskey. Each beer accentuates different unique flavors in the whiskey. There to walk us through this tasting will be whiskey expert Rebecca Gardiner. 

If you attended last year you’ll definitely remember how amazing and knowledgeable Rebecca is. Her love of all things whiskey was instilled in her from an early(legal) age in part by her father, Tim and her home place of Galway, Ireland. With more than fifteen years of experience in the beverage industry, Rebecca has worked in bars around Europe before taking her abilities Stateside. 

Now based in Boston, Rebecca is a Brand Ambassador representing The GlenDronach, BenRiach and Glenglassaugh Single Malt Scotches and Slane Irish Whiskey. By the end of the event, you’ll have a solid go-to order when you’re back out at the bar. 

For this event, you’ll pick up a kit from Thunderbird Tavern (7515 15th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117) on either Monday & Tuesday, September 13th & 14th during Thunderbird Tavern hours (12pm - 2am). Your kit will include the 3 different beers as well as the Slane Irish Whiskey to taste along with them. Be sure to try one of Thunderbird Tavern’s Secret Sausages or grab a drink while you’re there! Then on September 16th at 6:30pm, you’ll hop online and join us for this virtual tasting.
