Gin Week: Gin Bartending Competition

With the introduction of Boodles Rhubarb & Strawberry, Boodles will be sponsoring a unique bartending competition with a twist. In the spirit of Seattle, Boodles will have a “Poppin’ Tags” bartending competition.

Local bartenders will be able to submit their own cocktail creations using Boodles Rhubarb & Strawberry Gin as the main ingredient. From the submissions, 4 bartenders will be selected based on the cocktail submissions, telling the story of their own sense of style, and creativity.

Once selected the 4 bartenders will be introduced at Thomas Street Warehouse and then be given 30 minutes to shop at a local thrift store to create their own style for the cocktail for the perfect “Gramable” moment. Elements from the thrift store could include, but not limited to: glassware, clothing, serving utensils, cocktail mascots, etc.

After the shopping is finished, the bartenders will hustle back to the venue to start making their cocktail. The cocktails will be judged by a panel of 3 in-person judges and by the majority of the audience in attendance.

The competition will be held on Wednesday April 7th at 4pm. The 4 best entrants will be invited to compete at Thomas Street Warehouse in South Lake Union. Spectators are welcome, space is limited on a first come first serve basis, and there will be drink specials featuring Boodles to enjoy!

Brandy Week: Brandy With A Twist

Learn to make Brandy cocktails!

We are about to up your classy drink game with one of the fanciest spirits out there, brandy. Join us for a virtual evening of brandy cocktails with, bartender and brand ambassador Jim Romdall, as he takes us through how to make two brandy cocktails and shares with us his wealth of knowledge all things brandy.

This virtual event is open to Seattle Cocktail Club Members only and your kit will include all the ingredients that you need. Pickup will take place Tuesday the 23rd from 3pm - 6pm and Wednesday the 24th from 10am - 1pm and the event will be held on Thursday, March 25th at 6:30 pm. Tickets are per attendee, not per screen.

Each SCC event will follow the Washington State Department of Health guidelines and will either be virtual, hybrid or in-person based on what is safest at that time.

Learn all about Brandy!

Seattle Cocktail Club presents The Basics Of Brandy. Learn all about the wide range of brandies from Cognac, Armagnac, pisco, eau-de-vie, and other styles. We will be joined by Clear Creek Distillery as they walk us through the history of brandy as well as the history of Clear Creek Brandy! We will learn the ins and outs from all the great ways you can drink it to understanding the label! Join us virtually on Monday, March 22nd at 6:30pm, become a brandy expert and if you'd like, pick up a bottle of Clear Creek Pear Brandy to sip along with us!

Meletti Amaro Winter Warm Up

Seattle Cocktail Club and Tavern Law are excited to present a virtual evening with Meletti Amaro!

Join us on Thursday, February 25, 2021 as we drink delicious cocktails and have a virtual talk about Amaro.

Your evening will begin as you pour yourself a perfectly crafted cocktail and settle in as Matteo Meletti, the fifth generation of the family that brings us Meletti Amaro, tells you about the history of Amaro and how Meletti Amaro is produced according to a secret family recipe that originated at the turn of the century.

We will then be joined by Michael Cadden of Tavern Law who will teach us how to make Meletti cocktails at home. As Michael talks us through each step, you will gain new ideas for how this remarkable blend of aromatic fruits, herbs, and spices can create a perfectly balanced cocktail that is neither overly bitter, nor overly sweet.

Your ticket includes a cocktail box that has been carefully crafted by bartender Michael Cadden of Tavern Law that includes everything you will need for the evening.

Cocktail boxes can be picked up at Tavern Law on Tuesday the 23rd between 4pm-6pm and Wednesday the 24th between 11am-1pm. The live stream for the event will start at 6:30pm on Thursday, February 25, 2021 and be followed by a digital happy hour for all attendees. Tickets are per attendee, not per screen.

The History of Gin According to Cocktails

Seattle Cocktail Club is proud to present: The History of Gin According to Cocktails!

We will be joined by the talented staff from Seattle’s Navy Strength (winner of Best New American Bar) as they teach us how to make a gin cocktail with a tropical twist while talking all about gin.

Gin and cocktails have been close bedfellows throughout history. From the early days of gin punch, to the current Golden Age of the Cocktail the rise and fall of gin and cocktails has been intertwined through time.

Today gin enjoys a relationship with more classic cocktails than any other spirit, some receiving just a fleeting moment of fame, others enduring timelessly. The history of these drinks charts a rich course through the gin years, one which we look forward to sharing with you.

This virtual event will be on 2/22/21 at 6:30pm, will feature Ford’s Gin, and the cocktail kits will be available for pickup at Navy Strength in Belltown.

Each kit contains:

• One 750ml bottle Ford’s Gin

• Three cocktail mixes each making 2-4 drinks:

  • A Gimlet featuring Reisling-Lime Cordial

  • A coconut oil-washed Martini

  • A Gin Sling featuring galangal, apricot, and Thai chile
